Visakhapatnam: The "MSME Business Expo-2026," organised by the AP Chamber of Commerce and Industries Federation, opened in Visakhapatnam with much enthusiasm on Friday.

Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh inaugurated the event, in the presence of Bhimili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao and chamber representatives. The expo, from Sept 11 to 13, features 187 stalls showcasing products from MSMEs, startups, food processing, and tourism sectors.

Durgesh highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening MSMEs and startups under the MSME and Entrepreneur Development Policy 4.0 (2024-29). He noted the vision of “one entrepreneur in one family” by 2030 has a target of `50,000 crore in investments and 1.75 lakh jobs through the establishment of 175 micro parks across constituencies.

He promised aspiring entrepreneurs of guidance, consultancy and incentives, stressing that expos like this provided valuable platforms for business growth and innovation.

MLA Srinivasa Rao noted that Visakhapatnam, the City of Destiny, is rapidly advancing in tourism and industry. He announced that 16 five-star hotels would soon be functional in the city, adding that such expos significantly contributed to tourism development. The event drew participation from industrialists, businessmen, and local dignitaries.
