Applications Invited For Ugadi, Kala Ratna Awards

Recipients of Central government awards or previous State-level Ugadi or Kala Ratna awards are not eligible to apply again.

Vijayawada: The State Creativity and Culture Committee has invited applications for the Ugadi and Kala Ratna awards, to be presented during the “Parabhava” Nama Samvatsara Ugadi celebrations scheduled on March 19.

Announcing this on Wednesday, R. Mallikharjuna Rao, Chief Executive Officer of the committee, said applications are open to distinguished individuals from 15 categories. The awards recognise excellence in literature, music, dance, painting, sculpture, drama, folk arts, mimicry, Avadhanam, medicine, magic and mime, Harikatha and Burrakatha, journalism, social service, and other service fields as recommended by the committee.
He clarified that recipients of Central government awards or previous State-level Ugadi or Kala Ratna awards are not eligible to apply again.
Applications must be submitted by February 20, 2026. Biodata can be sent by post to the Chief Executive Officer, State Creativity and Culture Society, 2nd Floor, Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government College of Music and Dance, Durgapuram, Vijayawada, or emailed to apculture.ugadi2026@gmail.com.
