Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government would train 1.02 lakh health department staff members -- from ASHA workers to district health officers -- in order to implement the Sanjeevani programme.

This is a digital healthcare initiative to be launched by the state on January 1.

Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav reviewed the arrangements for implementation of the Sanjeevani programme with senior officials here on Thursday.

Later, in a statement, the health authorities said special arrangements were being made for implementation of Sanjeevini in 2,008 primary health centres and urban health centers in the state. Rooms are being provided to set up 537 centres to provide healthcare services to the people.

In addition to them, for interrupted power supply, power backup facilities are being set up at 1,726 centres. Computers, tablets, printers, scanners, web cameras and other electronic gadgets are also being arranged.

Meanwhile, the health authorities have started recruitment of 2,277 persons to work as patient care coordinators and 76 district-level coordinators.

The training programme for them would begin on October 12, and this would continue upto November 6.

The Sanjeevini programme is to be linked to nearly 74 applications or web portals of the state and central governments. A state Sanjeevini Integrated and Control Centre would be set up at Mangalagiri, to which 275 personnel have been appointed and their training is in progress.
