AP To Start Registration For Yogasanas on June 6, Targets 1 Crore People

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh government is scheduled to start registrations for Yogandhra – 2026 from Saturday onwards. Its target is to make arrangements for one crore people to practice yogasanas in all the 28 districts of the state from June 7 to June 20.
In this regard, Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav held a virtual review meeting with senior officials on Friday. The meeting discussed arrangements to be made for organising 56 special programmes in 28 districts to mark the 12th International Yoga Day on June 21.
In accordance with the discussions, registrations will start at all village/ward secretariats in the state. Officials from the AYUSH department have been posted as nodal officers, one for each district.
As many as 5,600 yoga master trainers have been roped in for the mammoth programme. One yoga master trainer will train a minimum of 50 persons in practising yogasanas for a period of three days at the district headquarters and mandal levels. Arrangements are being made in the districts accordingly.
The Health minister said the state-level programme would be held in Amaravati on June 21.
Significantly, the state government has set up a “special war room” in the head office of the Health department at Mangalagiri with 30 officials drawn from all the health wings.
Some of the prominent places where yogasana programmes will be held beginning from June 7 are Lepakshi Temple in Sri Satya Sai district, Manginapudi Beach in Krishna district, SV Zoo Parking in Tirupati, and Vontimitta Temple in YSR Kadapa.
On June 8, yogasanas will be held in Vundavalli Caves in Guntur, at Annavaram in Kakinada, Haritha Rock Garden in Kurnool, and Srisailam Temple premises in Nandyala.
Anganwadi workers and health personnel in Annamayya district and prisoners in East Godavari district prisons will take part in the yogasanas on the same day.
