Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has said that the government is taking steps to improve roads, mobile connectivity and tourism facilities in tribal areas, while creating job opportunities for local youth and boost the income of tribal families.

As part of the initiative, the government has granted permissions for 555 road projects, installation of 136 cell towers and the laying of optical fibre cables in 48 locations through the forest department. The government, he said, is establishing a dedicated blood bank at the Araku Area Hospital using nearly 1 crore of CSR funds, as many people in the area are suffering from sickle cell anaemia and pregnant tribal women are grappling with severe anaemia.

He said that Adavitalli Bata programme was taken up by the government, synergizing schemes such as PM JANMAN, PMGSY-IV and the employment Guarantee Scheme in the districts of Alluri Sitarama Raju, Parvathipuram Manyam, Polavaram, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Nandyal and Eluru.

Under this, the government undertook works worth `1406 crore to develop 1662km of roads connecting 858 tribal habitations. A total of 2,569 works worth `2,052 crore under the Adavitalli Bata 2.0 programme would develop 1,975km of roads and 45 bridges benefiting another 1341 habitations.

Pawan Kalyan participated in Adavitalli Bata 2.0 event in Kakavada village in Rampachodavaram assembly constituency on Sunday. He interacted with the people of several tribal villages like Vemulakonda, Rakota, Suvarlavada, Daragudem, Dabbayalasa, Tirugatirallu, Kakavada, Chakalaveedhi, Vettichelakalu, Sokulagudem etc.

He urged the people to ensure the victory of alliance candidates in the local body elections and also participate in development activities. The alliance parties, he said, should provide appropriate representation to Jana Sena in the local body elections. He laid the stone for construction of 2,569 development works at a cost of `2,052 crore.

Kakinada Lok Sabha member Udaya Srinivas, Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Venkateswara Rao, Rampachodavaram MLA Miriyala Sirisha Devi, Palakonda MLA Nimmaka Jaya Krishna, rural development chief secretary Kantilal Dande and others were present.
