Vijayawada: Students interested in pursuing the four years’ B. Sc. Nursing course commencing 2026–27 in Andhra Pradesh will have to appear for NEET-UG. Admissions will be based on the merit they secure in the competitive exam.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has agreed to the proposal of selecting students to pursue B. Sc. Nursing course through NEET-UG, as proposed by the Health department recently.
In 2025–26, a separate Andhra Pradesh Nursing Common Entrance Test had been held for admissions to the B. Sc. Nursing course for the first time. Of the 16,000 seats, 4,000 seats remained vacant.
Prior to that admissions for B. Sc. Nursing course had been made based on merit in the Intermediate marks and the rank in AP Eamcet.
From 2026–27 onwards, as per discussions between Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav and senior health officials, NEET-UG has been suggested as the mode for admissions to the B. Sc. Nursing course.
