Heat continues, strong winds forecast for state
Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh continued to reel under harsh weather conditions on Wednesday, with the state experiencing its third consecutive day of hot and dry weather. Several districts recorded temperatures well above 35°C, with Kavali and Nellore emerging as the hottest spots at 37°C.
According to data, Tirupati registered the third-highest temperature at 36°C, Amaravati and Visakhapatnam recorded 35°C each, Kakinada recorded 34°C, and both Tuni and Kadapa recorded 35°C.
Weather officials noted temperature variations ranging from 0.1°C to 2.6°C across different locations in the past 24 hours.
The India Meteorological department (IMD) has issued weather advisories for the next five days, warning residents to brace for strong winds across multiple regions of the state.
According to the latest bulletin from the meteorological centre in Amaravati, strong winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and the Rayalaseema region.
The IMD forecast suggests that while light to moderate rainfall is expected at one or two places in various subdivisions over the coming week, the predominant weather pattern will continue to feature these strong wind conditions.
