AP Law Courses Entrance Results Announced

The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education on Monday announced the results of AP Lawcet and AP PGLCET-2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 80 per cent across all streams. The entrance examinations were conducted by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam on May 4 at 100 centres across the state.
A total of 30,021 candidates registered for the examinations, of whom 23,996 appeared and 19,197 qualified. AP PGLCET for admission into two-year LLM/ML courses recorded the highest pass percentage at 92.02 per cent, with 1,752 candidates qualifying out of 1,904 who appeared.
In AP LAWCET for the three-year LLB course, 17,533 candidates appeared and 13,863 qualified, registering a pass percentage of 79.07 per cent, while the five-year LLB course recorded a 78.57 per cent pass percentage with 3,582 candidates qualifying out of 4,559 candidates who appeared.
Gender-wise analysis showed that 15,809 male candidates appeared for the examinations, of whom 13,079 qualified, registering an 82.73 per cent success rate. Among female candidates, 8,187 appeared and 6,118 qualified, recording a 74.73 per cent pass percentage.
The university stated that the preliminary answer keys were released on May 7 and objections were reviewed by an expert committee before finalising the results. Officials noted that no valid objections were upheld this year, resulting in no changes to the preliminary key.
In the Lawcet three-year stream, S. Afridhbasha from Tirupati secured the first rank with 120 marks, while Muppa Sneha from Guntur topped the Lawcet five-year category with 107 marks. In PGLCET, Gaurav Raj Arya from Uttarakhand secured the top rank with 88 marks.
The results also reflected a rise in registrations compared to last year, with total applications increasing from 27,253 in 2025 to 30,021 in 2026, indicating growing interest in legal education in Andhra Pradesh.
Prof. T. Sita Kumari, convener of AP Lawcet & AP PGLCET-2026, expressed gratitude to Nara Lokesh for entrusting SPMVV with the responsibility of conducting the examinations and for extending encouragement to the organising team.
