AP Government Constitutes New Executive Council for SPMVV
Bharat Biotech's Suchitra Ella among experts nominated for a three-year term
Tirupati: State government has constituted a new executive council for Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati, for a three-year term. The Higher Education Department has issued G.O. No. 49 in this regard.
The government has nominated Prof. C. Vani, Professor of Communication and Journalism, as the senior professor representing the university colleges. Prof. P. Vijayalakshmi, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Management, has been nominated as the Principal and Dean representative.
Four professionals have been nominated as members of the executive council. They are Dr. Suchitra K. Ella, co-founder and managing director of Bharat Biotech; Dr. V. Vanajakshamma, Professor of Cardiology at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences; Nirmala Datla, Chief Data Science and Engineering officer at Sasken Technologies Ltd.; and Dr. Meena Rajiv Chandrawarkar, former vice chancellor of Karnataka State Women's University and chairman of SRC NCTE.
SPMVV vice chancellor Prof. V. Uma said the experience of the nominated members in academics, administration, science, medicine, and technology would help the university's growth and governance. She said the executive council plays an important role in guiding the university's academic and institutional development. She expressed confidence that the new members would contribute to strengthening SPMVV as a leading institution for women's higher education.
The university has thanked the Governor, state government and the Higher Education Department for constituting the new executive council.
The members nominated will hold office in accordance with the provisions of the SPMVV Act, 1983, and the relevant university statutes.
