KURNOOL: AP’s Stamps and Registrations department has reported a strong and encouraging performance in the first month of the new financial year 2020–2027, with revenue collections showing a clear upward trend across Andhra Pradesh.

Several districts have either achieved or come close to their assigned targets, reflecting improved economic activity. A revival in the real estate sector, coupled with increased pace in land transactions, is being cited as the primary reason for the surge in revenues.

According to official data for April 2026, the state recorded net (paid) revenue collections of over ₹970 crore against a target of around ₹1,090 crore, achieving nearly 89 per cent of the target. The growth rate is estimated to be in the range of 8–9 per cent, indicating a stable and positive start for the fiscal year. Officials say the figures point towards sustained momentum if current trends continue.

Rayalaseema districts, which had shown comparatively lower performance in previous years despite moderate growth, have registered significant improvement this time. Except for Sri Sathya Sai district, all districts in the region have crossed 90 per cent of their targets in the very first month. Annamayya district stood out as the top performer in the state, achieving close to 95 per cent of its target, setting a strong benchmark for others.

Srikakulam district posted impressive figures by crossing the ₹200 crore mark within a month, mobilising ₹200.92 crore against a target of ₹247 crore. Vizianagaram recorded robust performance, achieving ₹160 crore against its ₹184 crore target. These figures highlight the widespread growth across districts and the strengthening of the registration ecosystem.

“Revenue has increased in almost all districts, barring one or two exceptions. Compared to last year, the trend is clearly better and we are expecting even stronger results in the coming months,” an official from the Stamps and Registrations department in Kurnool said.

District-wise review indicates that Anakapalli, Annamayya, and Tirupati districts have delivered outstanding performances, contributing significantly to the overall state revenue. On the other hand, Kakinada and Guntur districts have fallen slightly short of their targets, though officials remain optimistic about improvement in the coming months.

“If MSMEs gain stronger momentum, there is a clear possibility of further increase in the state’s revenue. They are likely to witness improved performance this year,” said an Industries department official in Vijayawada.

Experts attribute the positive trend not only to real estate recovery, but also to increased economic activity and investor confidence. With continued momentum in land transactions and development projects, the department is hopeful of surpassing targets in the upcoming quarters.
