In a message issued on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Chief Minister said the fight against drugs was fundamentally a fight to protect the aspirations, health and future of the younger generation.
Emphasising the social impact of substance abuse, Naidu said the battle against narcotics was not merely a law-enforcement exercise but a broader effort to safeguard families and communities from the devastating consequences of addiction.
He stressed that protecting youth from the drug menace remained a key priority of the state government.
The Chief Minister asserted that the Andhra Pradesh government was firmly committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks and ensuring that those involved in the illegal trade were brought to justice. He said the authorities would continue to pursue stringent enforcement measures against offenders and prevent the spread of narcotics across the state.
At the same time, Naidu underscored the importance of rehabilitation and recovery, stressing that every possible support would be extended to individuals battling addiction. He said the government would help affected persons recover with dignity and rebuild their lives through appropriate intervention and support systems.
Highlighting the state's anti-drug campaign, the CM said the period when narcotics were allowed to gain a foothold in AP was over. He maintained that the state now stood firmly for zero tolerance towards drug trafficking, while also offering hope and assistance to those seeking recovery.
