Andhra Pradesh: Guntur Voters Urged To Use Special Campaign Days
Voters should not miss the opportunity to verify their electoral details and initiate the prescribed process if any errors or changes: Guntur Municipal Corporation commissioner K. Mayur Ashok
VIJAYAWADA: Guntur East Assembly constituency election registration officer (ERO) and Guntur Municipal Corporation commissioner K. Mayur Ashok has urged voters to make full use of the special campaign days being organised on August 22, 23, 29 and 30 to verify their details in the draft electoral rolls. The special campaign days are aimed at facilitating voters in checking and updating their electoral particulars ahead of the finalisation of the electoral rolls.
Ashok said the special campaign days were being conducted as per the directions of the Election Commission of India. Booth-level officers (BLOs) would be available at all polling stations from 10 am to 5 pm on the four days along with the draft electoral rolls.
He appealed to voters to check their names and other details in the draft rolls and ensure that the information was accurate. Those seeking to enrol as new voters, make changes or corrections to their names and other particulars, or submit objections to the draft electoral roll could approach the BLOs at their respective polling stations and submit the required applications.
Ashok said voters should not miss the opportunity to verify their electoral details and initiate the prescribed process if any errors or changes were noticed in the draft rolls.
He also directed supervisory officers and assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) to closely monitor the functioning of BLOs and ensure that they remained present at the polling stations during the designated hours to receive applications and petitions from the public.
