VIJAYAWADA: The proposed Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital in Amaravati received a significant boost on Friday as Gates Foundation India country director Archana Vyas visited the project’s construction site at Thullur village in the Amaravati Capital Region. She reviewed the ongoing works along with Ravi Srinivasa Rao, chief operating officer of the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute.
Srinivasa Rao and Balasubrahmanyam, chief general manager (Projects), briefed her on the progress of construction, the hospital's proposed facilities, and the overall vision of the cancer care project being developed in AP’s capital region.
Archana Vyas lauded the services rendered by the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute through its Hyderabad facility.
She appreciated the institution for providing quality treatment to thousands of cancer patients over the years.
The Gates Foundation representative congratulated hospital's chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna for his leadership and sustained commitment to strengthening cancer care and expanding access to advanced oncology services.
Amaravati cancer hospital project representatives sought support from the Gates Foundation, highlighting its potential of extending world-class treatment facilities to patients from Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states.
