VISAKHAPATNAM: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport on August 1, minister for tribal welfare and women and child welfare Gummidi Sandhya Rani inspected the arrangements at the Bhogapuram site on Sunday.

She reviewed preparations for the Dhimsa dance performance by 14,000 tribal students, inspected the Prime Minister’s walkthrough route, arrival area, and other locations; and offered suggestions to officials. The minister directed all departments to work in coordination to ensure the success of the event.

Sandhya Rani also met home and disaster management minister Vangalapudi Anitha and MSME minister Kondapalli Srinivas to discuss arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit. They resolved to take coordinated measures regarding event management, security, and cultural performances.

Kurupam MLA T. Jagadeeswari, Parvathipuram MLA Bonela Vijayachandra, Palakonda MLA N. Jayakrishna, district in‑charges Gaddi Eswari and P. Bhudevi, Dandalayya Organisation Chairman D. Ramakrishna, along with several officials and public representatives, participated in the inspection.
