ANANTAPUR: In a significant step towards technology-driven policing and citizen-centric governance, Anantapur SP P. Jagadish launched “AI Prajavani,” an artificial intelligence-based voice complaint registration system at the District Police Office on Wednesday.

The innovative platform enables citizens to register complaints orally, eliminating the need to submit written petitions. The AI-enabled application automatically converts the complainant’s verbal statement into text, thereby generating the formal complaint. A printed copy of this petition is provided to the complainant. Simultaneously, the complaint is digitally forwarded to the SP for immediate review and action.

The SP observed that the initiative is expected to be particularly beneficial to people with limited literacy, who often depend on others to draft petitions. By allowing citizens to directly narrate their grievances, the system simplifies access to police services, while reducing time and expenses involved in preparing complaints.

The facility will be initially available at the weekly Public Grievance Redressal programme conducted every Monday at the District Police Office. It will be extended to police stations across the district in phases.

The software has been developed by young innovators of startup INCUXAI involving K. Yashwanth, Dileep Kumar, Shashi Kumar, and Ashish. They designed the platform using advanced speech-processing and artificial intelligence technologies. The SP congratulated the young developers for creating a solution that combines local talent with cutting-edge technology.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish said Andhra Pradesh police have consistently adopted technology to improve public service delivery.

He expressed confidence that AI Prajavani would enhance transparency in complaint registration and bridge the gap between the citizens and police.

“People can now communicate their grievances directly through their voice. The system converts the information into a formal complaint and generates an instant copy, making the process easier, especially for those who cannot write,” the SP said.
