62 lakh beneficiaries to receive monthly social security pensions, mostly at home
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has earmarked Rs 33,485.10 crore for NTR Bharosa pensions in 2026-27, with 62 lakh beneficiaries, including the elderly, widows, persons with disabilities and single women, set to receive pensions at their doorsteps.
Of the total beneficiaries, 9.34 lakh pensioners come under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). The Centre has sanctioned Rs 382.82 crore, which will be credited directly into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts from October 1 under the Single Nodal Agency – System for Pension Administration Raksha (SNA-SPARSH) model.
Minister for micro, small and medium enterprises, rural poverty eradication and empowerment of Non-Resident Andhraites Kondapalli Srinivas said the central share would be transferred through banks, while the state’s contribution would continue to be handed over in cash at beneficiaries’ homes by Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward staff.
He clarified that the arrangement would apply only to NSAP pensioners. The remaining 53 lakh beneficiaries would continue to receive the full pension amount in cash at their doorsteps.
Under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), beneficiaries aged 60-79 years will receive Rs 200 from the Centre and Rs 3,800 from the state, totalling C4,000. Those aged 80 years and above will receive Rs 500 from the Centre and Rs 3,500 from the state.
Under the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), widows aged 40-79 years will receive Rs 300 from the Centre and Rs 3,700 from the state, while those above 80 years will receive Rs 500 and Rs 3,500, respectively.
For persons with disabilities under the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), the monthly pension is Rs 6,000, with Rs 300 or Rs 500 contributed by the Centre depending on age and the balance by the state.
Minister Srinivas urged NSAP pensioners to activate their Aadhaar-linked savings accounts to ensure smooth transfer of the central share. He said beneficiaries would receive monthly SMS alerts confirming the credits and advised them to approach Swarna Gramam or Swarna Ward secretariats for queries.
