Vizianagaram:As many as 90 teachers selected as best teachers at various levels in Vizianagaram district were felicitated at a Teachers’ Day function held here on Saturday.

Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas, who was the chief guest, said teachers played a vital role in shaping future generations and building society. He said a teacher’s greatest achievement was seeing students succeed in life and urged educators to identify every child’s talent and guide them in the right direction.

MLC Gade Srinivasulu Naidu, Vizianagaram MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapathi Raju and Nellimarla MLA Lokam Nagamadhavi attended the event.

Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy highlighted the district’s progress in education, noting that Vizianagaram recorded around a 92 per cent pass percentage in the Class 10 examinations this year. He attributed the performance to the collective efforts of teachers and said government schools had proved they could match private institutions in delivering quality education.

The 90 teachers were presented with appreciation certificates. Officials also announced that three teachers from the district had been selected for the State-level Best Teacher Awards to be presented in Amaravati.
