473 Women Constables Pass Out From PTC
A batch of 473 women constables completed nine months of training at the Police Training College in Vizianagaram.
State home minister Vangalapudi Anitha urged newly trained women constables to build mental resilience while discharging their duties.
The home minister was the chief guest at the passing out parade of 473 women constables of the 2025-26 batch at the Police Training College, Vizianagaram, on Monday.
Anitha received the ceremonial salute, reviewed the parade and presented awards to outstanding cadets. She also inaugurated a new computer laboratory at the training college.
Addressing the parade, the minister said constables were the backbone of the police force, and women constables play a crucial role in giving confidence to women victims who approach police stations. She noted that the nine-month training programme laid the foundation for a disciplined and responsible police career.
Anitha said policing is a highly responsible profession that helps maintain law and order, creating an environment conducive to investment and development in the state. She added that the state government has given priority to the police department by taking up recruitment and increasing the training stipend for cadets to `12,000.
Congratulating the women constables and their families, the minister urged the recruits to uphold the dignity of the uniform and work in a manner that enhances the reputation of the police department and the government.
Vizianagaram MLA Pusapati Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapathi Raju, MLCs Gade Srinivasulu Naidu and Indukuri Raghuraju and officials were present.
