The Centre has informed Parliament that 310 higher educational and research institutions in Andhra Pradesh have been brought under the Pradhan Mantri One Nation One Subscription (PM-ONOS) scheme, providing access to more than 13,000 academic journals from 32 publishers across disciplines including science, technology, medicine, arts and humanities.

Replying to a question raised by Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy in the Lok Sabha on Monday, minister of state for education Dr Sukanta Majumdar said the state has 305 Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and five R&D institutions covered under the scheme. Since its launch in January 2025, nearly 3.11 lakh students and 6,974 faculty members in Andhra Pradesh have accessed journals through the initiative.

The minister said 68 eligible institutions in the state are yet to be onboarded. In the SPSR Nellore district, 11 institutions have been onboarded, while four institutions are awaiting inclusion.

The government said awareness of the scheme is being promoted through webinars, special lectures, publisher-led training programmes and user-awareness sessions conducted by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre to improve utilisation, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
