275-Foot-Long Tricolour Leads Tiranga Rally In Nellore

A Tiranga rally featuring a 275-foot-long national flag was held in Nellore on Wednesday as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy flagged off the rally, organised under the leadership of collector Himanshu Shukla. Students, elected representatives, officials, voluntary organisations and residents participated in the rally and marched towards VRC while raising patriotic slogans.

The minister said the rally marked the beginning of a series of programmes being organised in the district until August 15 under the theme ‘Partners in Nation Building’, in line with the directions of the Central and state governments.

He said tree-planting programmes and social media campaigns would follow, while the main Independence Day celebrations would be held at the Parade Grounds on August 15.

Ramanarayana Reddy said the Tiranga rally was aimed at fostering patriotism, national unity and respect for the sacrifices of freedom fighters. He called upon people to work together for the glory and prosperity of the nation.

The minister appreciated the participation of public representatives, officials, media personnel, students and voluntary organisations, saying collective involvement would strengthen the spirit of national unity.

Zilla parishad chairperson Anam Arunamma, MLAs Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Dagumati Venkata Krishna Reddy and Kakarla Suresh, joint collector Mogili Venkateswarlu, DRO Vijay Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Y.O. Nandan were among those who participated.
