Visakhapatnam: ASR district collector T. Nishanti said 133 persons were identified as ineligible for inclusion in the final electoral roll under the ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate) category as part of the SIR exercise.

She said 4,088 notices were issued to voters across the district. After examining objections, explanations and supporting documents, 385 cases were taken up for verification, of which 133 persons were identified as ineligible.

Booth Level Officers began door-to-door verification from Thursday wherever necessary to establish whether voters continued to reside at their registered addresses, had permanently shifted elsewhere, were deceased or had discrepancies in their electoral details.

Nishanti said special care was being taken to ensure that no eligible voter was inadvertently excluded, while ineligible entries were removed as per the prescribed rules.

Eligible citizens whose names are missing from the rolls can apply through Form-6. Their names can be added through the Continuous Updation process after verification.

The SIR-2026 final electoral roll will be published on October 16, she said. The Collector urged eligible citizens to verify whether their names were included in the electoral roll.

She said the objective was to ensure that every eligible citizen was included in the electoral roll and that no ineligible entry remained.
