1.05 Lakh To Appear for 629 AEE Posts

TIRUPATI: More than 1.05 lakh candidates will appear for the recruitment test for 629 Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) posts in five State power utilities from August 23 to 27.
APSPDCL chairman and managing director Siva Sankar Lotheti said on Friday that 1,05,566 candidates had applied for the examination being conducted for APTRANSCO, APGENCO, APSPDCL, APEPDCL and APCPDCL. The computer-based test will be held at 94 centres, including 81 in Andhra Pradesh and 13 outside the State.
Of the 629 posts, 200 are in APTRANSCO, 135 in APEPDCL, 134 in APSPDCL, 100 in APGENCO and 60 in APCPDCL. Selected candidates will receive a consolidated salary of ₹75,000 a month during the two-year probation period and will be placed in the regular pay scale after completing probation, as per rules.
Lotheti said the civil engineering examination would be held on August 23 for 16,183 candidates, followed by the Mechanical Engineering examination on August 24 for 9,444 candidates. The Telecom/Electronics examination would be conducted in two sessions on August 25 for 26,237 candidates, while the Electrical Engineering examination would be held on August 26 and 27 for 53,702 candidates.
The test will be conducted from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Candidates must report by 7.30 a.m. for the morning session and by 1 p.m. for the afternoon session.
The examination will carry 100 marks, including 70 marks for technical subjects and 30 marks for non-technical subjects. There will be no negative marking, and scores will be normalised for examinations conducted in multiple sessions.
He said elaborate security arrangements had been made at all centres, including biometric verification, identity checks, frisking, CCTV surveillance and police security. Question papers will be transmitted in encrypted form and decrypted only at the scheduled examination time. The sequence of questions and options, as well as seating arrangements, will also be randomised.
Mobile jammers have been installed to prevent unauthorised communication. The preliminary answer key will be released within three days of the last examination, followed by a seven-day period for raising objections. The final answer key, normalised scores and merit list are expected to be released in the last week of September.
