A 10-year-old Class V student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 45-year-old man in Railway Kodur mandal, with police searching for the absconding accused.
A 10-year-old Class V student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 45-year-old man in Railway Kodur mandal of Tirupati district. The incident came to light belatedly.
According to a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, the accused, identified as Chirala Ramesh Naidu, allegedly took the girl from Abbinayudupalle in an autorickshaw to the Railway Kodur railway station. He later allegedly took her to an isolated place on the outskirts of the village and sexually assaulted her.
After learning about the incident, the parents approached the Railway Kodur police and lodged a complaint. Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
The alleged delay in making the case public has also drawn criticism. Details reportedly surfaced on social media before information about the case became known at the police station.
The accused is reportedly absconding and police are making efforts to trace him.
