Nellore Ammonia Gas Leak: 10 workers taken ill
The gas leak originated from ammonia gas plant within the facility during shrimp processing operations

Nellore: As many as 10 workers fell ill in a gas leak incident at The Water Base Limited, located in Ananthavaram village of TP Gudur mandal in Nellore district on Saturday.
According to Nellore Rural DSP Ghattamaneni Sreenivasa Rao, the gas leak originated from ammonia gas plant within the facility during shrimp processing operations. Technician P. Suresh sustained burns to his hands after coming into contact with the leaking liquid while attempting to arrest the leakage.
Those affected by the ammonia exposure, include three women. Suresh and the three women were rushed to a private hospital in Nellore by officials. The DSP confirmed that their condition was stable. The remaining six workers, who experienced mild symptoms, were treated at the company premises and were reported to be recovering.
Authorities started an investigation to determine the cause of gas leak and ensure that safety measures were reinforced to prevent such incidents in the future.
