Iran Winner of Short Film Fest
Filmmakers, actors and film critics also present at the event which was marked by cultural performances.
Hyderabad: ‘Sarnvesht’ from Iran, directed by Yaser Talebi, was adjuged winner of the the three-day Hyderabad International Short Film Festival (HISFF) that concluded here on Sunday. ‘Toy Gun’ directed by Parshuram Thingam, won the second prize, while ‘My Father is Afraid of Water’ by Prateek Rajendra Sreevastava secured the third prize. Films from India, Iran and Spain received special jury awards and certificates of merit.
Present at the concluding ceremony were minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan, and Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju. Filmmakers, actors and film critics also present at the event which was marked by cultural performances.
Actor-dancer Lima Das, filmmaker Sunzu Bachuspatimayu, Canadian film critic Judy Gladstone and veteran filmmaker Premendra Majumdar were felicitated. Celebrated screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad honoured senior cinematographer and director Madhu Ambat.
