Bhubaneswar : Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Friday expressed serious concern over reports of social media reels being filmed inside Lok Seva Bhawan, the state’s key administrative headquarters.

Stating that the premises are meant strictly for governance and official functioning, the minister made it clear that there is no scope for filming reels inside the building, whether by employees or visitors.

“Lok Seva Bhawan is meant to ensure the reach of governance measures, notices, and directives to the general public. It is a place to regulate the administration. There is no scope for filming any sort of reels here,” Harichandan said.

The law minister said the home department would issue clear instructions to Lok Seva Bhawan security personnel to prevent such activities. He added that if any such instances are detected, immediate steps would be taken jointly by the security staff and the police.

“Whether it is someone working inside the building or an outsider, filming reels at Lok Seva Bhawan is not appropriate. The home department will caution the security personnel, and if required, the police will also take action,” he said.

Harichandan emphasised that the issue concerns the dignity, discipline, and security of a high-level government establishment that houses multiple departments and handles sensitive administrative work.

The minister also indicated that the home department is considering bringing formal guidelines to regulate behaviour and activities within the Lok Seva Bhawan premises, including restrictions on filming for non-official purposes.

“The home department is thinking about bringing guidelines in this regard. Necessary steps will be taken so that such incidents do not occur in future,” Minister Harichandan stated.
