Yousufguda: Lorry Driver Dies After Choking On Bonda At Tiffin Center

While eating, a piece of it got stuck in his throat, and Ramesh started choking on the crispy food item .

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old lorry driver died of suffocation after choking on a piece of Mysore Bonda he was eating at a tiffin centre in Sri Krishna Devarayanagar, Yousufguda at about 1 am on Friday. While locals stepped in to help, a passer-by, identified as B. Madhu Raj, informed the Madhuranagar police.

Police went to the scene and sent the victim, 45-year-old Dasari Ramesh, to a private hospital where he was declared dead. Ramesh was a resident of SPR Hills in Rahmatnagar, Madhuranagar station house officer H. Prabhakar said.

Police informed Ramesh’s family members in Vijayawada who reached the city in the afternoon and claimed the victim's body from the OGH mortuary, police said. Ramesh worked in a private transport company for 16 years. He is survived by two daughters and a son, his wife is a homemaker, police said.

Police have collected the CCTV footage of Ramesh collapsing and commenced investigations.
