Punjab Polls: ECI Team Holds Comprehensive Review With Top Administrative, Police Brass
The Election Commission of India reviews poll preparedness with district election officers and senior police officials ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections.
The team of Election Commission of India (ECI) officials on Wednesday held a comprehensive review of poll preparedness in Chandigarh for the upcoming assembly polls in Punjab.
The delegation held detailed interactions with all 23 district election officers, commissioners of police and senior superintendents of police, who made detailed presentations to the ECI team apprising them about the status of preparedness in their respective districts.
“The officials emphasised on strict compliance with ECI instructions, transparency in all processes, timely completion of all pre-poll activities, and robust enforcement measures,” ECI said in a statement.
“The Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab assured the senior officials that all tasks related to the upcoming elections will be performed diligently, in a time-bound manner and strictly as per the instructions of the ECI to ensure free, fair, transparent and inclusive elections in the state,” the statements added.
