Karnataka, Kerala CMs Join Rahul’s Protest in Front of PM’s Residence

New Delhi: Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan and Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar joined the Congress party’s sit-in protest in front of the Prime Minister’s residence, on Tuesday.
The Congress party demanded resignations of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, taking responsibility for the violence unleashed by the central forces and the Delhi police against the protesting students and supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party, during Monday’s Parliament march.
The dharna was led by Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and was joined by senior Congress leaders including Priyanka Gandhi, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal.
VD Satheesan, who reached Delhi on Monday had held meetings with Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Kerala MPs earlier on Tuesday.
After the sit-in protest, the Kerala CM said on a facebook post that “These are extraordinary developments taking place in the country. The youth and students, who are the hopes of the nation, have been brutally attacked in the national capital."
"I, along with Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and MPs from Kerala, was part of this march. This is a time for the country to stand united. Everyone should join this cause," Satheesan added.
Meanwhile DK Shivakumar, who travelled to Delhi on Tuesday, along with former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, for the final round of talks on the Karnataka cabinet expansion, with the Congress high-command.
