Chhattisgarh: Nadda accuses Baghel govt of being corrupt, incompetent

Raipur: BJP national president J P Nadda on Sunday accused the Bhupesh Baghel government of being corrupt and incompetent and said that it had no right to remain in power.

Addressing a public meeting in Dongargarh under Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh, Mr Nadda alleged that the five-year-rule of the Bhupesh Baghel government was marred by mega scandals.

Even, scandal of Rs 1,300 crore happened in the procurement of cow dung by the state Congress government, he alleged.

He said that the state Congress government had deprived the poor in Chhattisgarh of houses being provided under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana.

The Centre had allotted 14,80,000 houses to Chhattisgarh under the scheme.

But, the Bhupesh Baghel government had refused to implement the scheme in Chhattisgarh denying at least 12 lakh poor people to get their houses.

He said that the state government had denied pension to the widows by not releasing their money.

He also cited the liquor scams, coal transportation scandal and PDS scandal which allegedly happened during the Bhupesh Baghel government.

Earlier in the morning, addressing the BJP workers in Amaldiha in Raipur, Mr Nadda called upon the party activists to start house-to-house campaigns to reach out to the people and apprise them of the developmental works undertaken by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

Mr Nadda who arrived here on Saturday night held a meeting with senior party leaders to review the poll preparedness by the party in Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh is going to assembly polls in two phases on November seven and November 17.
