Dalit Bandhu: Final tranche of Rs 500 crore released

KCR’s dream of allocating Rs 2,000 crore for implementation of the scheme fulfilled

Hyderabad/ Karimnagar: The state government has fulfilled Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of allocating Rs 2,000 crore to implement the Rs 10-lakh-per-family Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad Assembly constituency as a pilot programme. The state government released the final tranche of Rs 500 crore on Thursday.

The CM had promised to extend Rs 10 lakh each to all 20,000 Dalit families in Huzurabad constituency under the Dalit Bandhu scheme, for which Rs 2,000 crore was required.

The total amount was released to the Karimnagar district collector in five installments. The first installment of Rs 500 crore was released on August 9, Rs 500 crore on August 23, Rs 200 crore on August 24 and Rs 300 crore on August 25. On Thursday, the TS Scheduled Castes Cooperative Development Corporation transferred the final Rs 500 crore to the Karimnagar collector.

The Karimnagar district administration is gearing up for effective implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme.

Collector R.V. Karnan chaired a review meeting with officials and directed them to speed up the survey of beneficiaries from Friday. He asked them to enter details on the Dalit Bandhu app along with keeping the offline data ready. The survey is expected to be completed by September 2.

The collector directed officials to ensure opening of separate bank account in the name of Dalit Bandhu by the beneficiaries and asked them to work with commitment for implementing the scheme.
