Congress wants Dalita Bandhu for all

ADILABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Anumula Revanth Reddy on Monday said ‘Soniamma rajyam’ would come under the Congress in 20 months and justice would be done to the marginalised sections in the state. He said he would do justice to party workers and the second rung leaders who worked hard for the party as he was going to be in politics for the next 20 years. 

Addressing the ‘Dalit Girijana Atma Gourava Dandora’ at Indravelli here on Monday, the Congress chief called upon the people to mount pressure on their MLAs to resign from their posts so that the state government implement Dalit Bandhu in all the 119 Assembly constituencies and said the Congress would work for the empowerment of Dalits, Adivasis and Girijans if voted to power. 

Revanth Reddy offered tributes to Indravelli martyrs before proceeding to the dias. He said the next ‘Dalit Girijana Atma Gourava Dandora’ would be held in Ibrahimpatnam on August 18.

Reddy narrated the instances where the Congress had given top constitutional posts and ministerial posts to the marginalised sections in state and in the Central governments in the last 70 years. He said the Congress gave the opportunity to B.R. Ambedkar to write the Constitution and thus Ambedkar safeguarded the rights of Dalits and tribals and marginalised sections and provided reservations to these sections.

Reddy came down on intelligence chief Prabhakar Rao for registering false cases against the Congress leaders and activists, adding that the officer was working like a TRS worker like Kasim Razvi did for the Nizam. He said the said officer would be punished for his misdeeds by the Congress government. 

He said it was the Congress which did social justice to the marginalised sections and added that the police firing took place at Indravelli in which several Adivasis died, but the Telangana Congress  leaders were helpless in united Andhra Pradesh. 

Reventh Reddy also promised to help the Indravelli martyrs' families and to develop the memorial area as a historical place.
