TRS gets Rs 218 cr through poll bonds

NEW DELHI: The TRS (now BRS) has reported receiving Rs 218 crore through electoral bonds in 2021-22, the third highest behind the DMK and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), according to the Association for Democratic Reforms, an NGO working for electoral reforms.

The TRS also had the second highest year-on-year increase, behind the BJD, and the third highest unspent income of about Rs 180 crore, ADR said The YSR Congress has declared a total income Rs 93.724 crore.

The top ten regional parties declared receiving Rs 852.88 crore as donations through electoral bonds in 2021-22. The regional parties include the Telugu Desam, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Biju Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United), Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, Akali Dal and the Maharashtra Gomantak Party.
