Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress has decided to intensify the agitations against the demonetisation throughout the country and appointed coordinators to work out the plans. AICC state coordinator K. V. Thangkabalu held a closed-door meeting here on Tuesday with state leaders, including KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, former chief minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC vice-presidents M. M. Hassan and V. D. Satheesan.

The coordinators, including sitting and former MPs and MLAs from other states, are Rajesh Kumar MLA (Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam), former MLA Arul Anbarusu (Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha), Evan D'souza MLA (Kottayam and Idukki), former MP V. Rajeswaran (Ernakulam and Thrissur), Tamil Nadu PCC general secretary Mayura Jayakumar (Palakkad and Malappuram), former MLC Madhe Gauda (Kozhikode and Wayanad) and former MLA U. R. Mr Hassan told DC that the internal party matters were not discussed at the meeting. "Thangkabalu is not authorised to handle the party matters in Kerala. The AICC has appointed a group of coordinators across the country to hold agitations against the demonetisation. Accordingly, he came with their list," said Mr Hassan.
