Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on October 25 to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Greenfield Data Centre at Info Valley-II in Jatni, near Bhubaneswar.

He will also inaugurate an Enterprise Computing and Cyber Security Training Institute, with preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit in full swing.

Modi is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar airport aboard a special aircraft at around 4.30 pm. He is expected to travel by helicopter to a temporary helipad near the venue. Three temporary helipads have reportedly been constructed for the visit.

Road repairs, sanitation and other civic works are underway, while police have intensified security arrangements around the venue and along routes connected to the Prime Minister’s programme.

Odisha BJP vice-president Jatin Mohanty said the data centre, built at an estimated cost of Rs 170 crore, would serve as a backup to the RBI’s primary facility in Navi Mumbai and strengthen the security of critical financial data.

“We welcome this initiative. The data centre will strengthen Odisha’s digital infrastructure and help attract technology-driven investment to the State,” Mohanty said at a press conference.

He added that the project reflected the Centre’s focus on cybersecurity and data protection, ensuring greater security for critical financial information.

According to Mohanty, the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate the data centre at around 5.30 pm before returning to New Delhi at approximately 6.30 pm.

The Odisha BJP has welcomed Modi’s visit and said it is preparing to accord him a grand reception.
