Thiruvananthapuram: The personnel and administrative reforms department has found that the KSEB has not reported 560 junior assistant/cashier vacancies to the PSC.  The staff in other categories are being deputed to the posts. Department principal secretary Satyajeet Rajan has asked the KSEB to report all vacancies  to the PSC and inform the government. The  department had received several representations from the candidates who were in the PSC rank list for the junior assistant/cashier posts in the KSEB.   The administrative vigilance cell of the  department asked the KSEB to furnish the details of  those who have been deputed from other departments to the posts of junior assistant/cashier.

The KSEB wrote to the PSC listing the number of employees from other sections working in the posts of cashier on work arrangement apart from 63 new posts in the newly formed electrical sections. As per the list,  there are 21 meter readers, 341 linemen, 69 mazdoors, three senior assistants, 13 overseers and 113 office assistants. The KSEB Junior Assistant/Cashier Association had earlier submitted a memorandum to Electricity Minister M.M. Mani urging him to fill  up  the vacancies.
