Dakshina Kannada’s connect with verdict
The judge, Justice S Abdul Nazeer is from Beluvai village near Moodabidri and did his law degree from SDM Law College in Mangaluru.
Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada is closely bound to the Ayodhya verdict as one of the five Supreme Court judges, who delivered the judgement on Saturday, and one of the lawyers, who fought the case before that, hail from the coastal district. The judge, Justice S Abdul Nazeer is from Beluvai village near Moodabidri and did his law degree from SDM Law College in Mangaluru before enrolling as an advocate in 1983 and practicing in the Karnataka High Court. In 2003, he became an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court and later permanent judge. In 2017 he was appointed a judge in the Supreme Court of India and handled the triple talaq case, besides the Ayodhya dispute.
Advocate Abdul Rahiman, who was one of the Sunni Waqf Board’s team of lawyers, hails from Hirebanandai in Dakshina Kannada district and began his career in the Puttur court.
