Promo video on Wayanad tourism goes viral

The brainchild of young district collector S Suhas, Wayanad-lovers the world over liked, viewed and shared' the video from the first day itself.

KALPETTA: The 19-minute promotional video namely ‘A Journey into Wayanad’, on the beauty of the fledgling tourism destination, produced by the District Administration in association with the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) went viral with more than 4 lakh persons viewing it within a week’s time. The brainchild of young district collector S Suhas, Wayanad-lovers the world over ‘liked, viewed and shared’ the video from the first day itself.   

An online news portal received 3,16,000 views within two days of uploading the video. District collector S. Suhas told Deccan Chronicle  that he was inspired by 
the beauty of the green  district resulting in the video.    “What we had targeted was awareness for the tourist on the charm as well as the precautions a tourist should take before visiting such a fragile and ecologically sensitive green zone with the rarest of rare flora and fauna.” 

“It is a message to each visitor on how  responsible he/she should be while visiting Wayanad,  its hills, dales, jungles  and heritage sites, he  said. It is a fact that we  encourage tourists. But they should respect the greenery”, Mr Suhas said. Mr Suhas is happy  that the video went  viral. “The message will be reaching many more  people day by day”,  he said.
