Chhattisgarh: In major bureaucratic reshuffle, 88 IAS officers transferred

Raipur: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Chhattisgarh government on Thursday, 88 IAS officers and one IPS officer were transferred.

This was the first big administrative shake-up made by chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai after assuming office on December 13.

Collectors in 19 districts in the state have been changed in the bureaucratic reshuffle exercise, as per the notification issued by General Administrative Department (GAD) here.

P.Dayanand, the 2006 batch IAS officer currently serving as secretary to the chief minister, has been relieved of the additional charge of secretary, medical education department.

He has been given additional charge of energy, mineral resources and public relations departments, chairman of Chhattisgarh state power company, as well as secretary of commerce and industry (rail line projects) and aviation departments.

Dayanand was appointed secretary to the chief minister after BJP came to power in December 2023.

Mayank Srivastav, the 2006 batch IPS officer, has been posted as commissioner-cum-director of the public relations department.

Additional chief secretary (ACS) Subrat Sahu, the 1992 batch IAS officer, has been posted as ACS of Dharmik Nyas (religious trust) and Dharmsva department.

Prior to his new postings, he was ACS of the panchayat and rural development department along with additional charge of electronics and information technology, commerce and industry, PWD and chairman of the Chhattisgarh environment conservation board.

He was now also given additional charge of director general of Thakur Pyarelal State Panchayat and Rural Development Institute, replacing Niharika Barik.

The 1997 batch IAS officer Barika has been appointed as the principal secretary of panchayat and rural development department with additional charge of development commissioner and principal secretary of electronics and information technology department.

In Thursday’s bureaucratic reshuffle, the babus holding key posts in the previous Bhupesh Baghel government were transferred.
