New Delhi:The Delhi High Court on Friday declined to hear a plea raising law and order concerns over a proposed protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6.

A vacation Bench of Justices Saurabh Banerjee and Amit Sharma refused to list the petition for urgent hearing after it was mentioned by counsel for Save India Foundation.

The plea pertained to a protest call given by the Cockroach Janta Party, which has sought the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination-related lapses.

The petition sought directions for deployment of preventive and crowd-control measures at IGI Airport, metro stations and highway entry points. It also urged authorities to restrict, regulate or relocate the proposed gathering to ensure that essential services, including hospitals, railway stations and courts, function without disruption.

The petitioner alleged that the organisation had mobilised youth in an unregulated manner and raised concerns over possible security implications linked to overseas digital coordination.

The protest call was issued earlier this month by the group’s founder Abhijeet Dipke, who urged supporters to assemble in Delhi on June 6.
