V K Sasikala's sister-in-law Ilavarasi granted 15 days emergency parole

Earlier in March, Sasikala was granted the same duration of parole for attending her husband Natarajan's funeral.

Bengaluru: Jailed AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala's sister-in-law, Ilavarasi, who was jailed with Sasikala after the two were convicted on charges of corruption, has been granted 15 days emergency parole following the critical condition of Ilavarasi's brother who has been hospitalised.

On Thursday afternoon, she came out of the Central prison at Parappana Agrahara and left in a car for Chennai. Ilavarasi and Sasikala are serving a four-year jail term after being convicted in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

According to the police, based on the court's permission, she was granted emergency parole and has to return on October 8. Conditions have been imposed that she should not interact with the media and should stay in the permitted location mentioned in the plea submitted before the court.

Earlier in March, Sasikala was granted the same duration of parole for attending her husband Natarajan's funeral.
