Speed up capital works: CM Chandrababu Naidu

Naidu inspects temporary capital site and interacts with engineers.

Guntur: AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu asked contractors at the  temporary secretariat to speed up the work so that construction of six buildings of the complex was completed by June 15. Mr Naidu on  Friday visited Velagapudi and inspected the ongoing temporary secretariat complex works. He viewed it through a view point and also inspected the detailed maps put on display there. He interacted with the engineers of Shapoorji and  Pallonji and L & T Constructions, who explained to him the schedule of construction and completion of works in detail.

CRDA vice-chairman and minister for municipal administration P.  Narayana, minister for irrigation D. Umamaheswara Rao, minister for  social welfare R. Kishorebabu, Tadikonda MLA T. Sravankumar, CRDA  commissioner N. Srikant, Guntur collector Kantilal Dande, joint  collector Ch. Sridhar, rural SP K. Narayan Naik and others were  present during the inspection.

Later, Mr Naidu along with the ministers, visited the ancient village of Malkapuram and viewed the inscriptions. The locals explained the history of the village to Mr Naidu and asked him to conserve Malkapuram as a heritage centre.

Meanwhile, Mr Naidu, who was scheduled to arrive at Velagapudi at 1 pm, came two  hours later and completed his visit in 20 minutes,  which disappointed the people gathered who had come from near and far.
