Chennai: Protesting against Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India’s (TRAI) new regulatory tariff for DTH, the Tamil Nadu Cable TV Operators Association decided to stop their service from Thursday.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, the office-bearers of the association stated that they planned to halt the services from Thursday. They have also decided to stage agitation against the Trai’s new tariff regime, which will commence from February 1 as the deadline for subscribers to choose their new channels as January 31, 2019.

After February 1, 2019, subscribers will pay only for the channels they have chosen to watch on their dish TV or cable TV connection, rather than being bound by packs decided by the DTH companies or cable operators. The officer-bearers of the association have claimed that the new tariff introduced in a hurry.
