Nizamabad: Pakistan woman, 3 kids get Indian citizenship

Nizamabad: A Pakistani woman, along with her three children, got Indian citizenship after 14 years. Fayazunnisa, 45, of Nizamabad finally got Indian citizenship from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Nizamabad Revenue Divisional Officer B. Vinod Kumar handed over the certificates of citizenship to them here on Tuesday.

Fayazunnisa of Nizamabad got married to a Pakistani national two decades ago. During her stay with her husband in Pakistan, she gave birth to the three sons. Due to divorce with her husband, Fayazunnisa returned to Nizamabad and had been staying with her parents. 

As she was a Pakistani citizen, Fayazunnisa and her three children had to stay in India on visit visa. After repeated requests to the State and Central Governments, Indian citizenship was given again to Fayazunnisa in 2017. Finally, her three major children also got Indian citizenship.
