Adilabad: Differences of opinion between old and new leaders are likely to affect the winning chances of TRS in Kumrambheem Asifabad district.

The party high command has announced Kova Laxmi as its Zilla Parishad chairman candidate for Asifabad. Kova Laxmi got defeated for 176 votes at the hands of Congress candidate Atram Sakku, who later joined the TRS. However, it is not sure whether both Kova Laxmi and Atram Sakku will work together or not in the Zilla Parishad elections in the interest of the party since they were at loggerheads till recently.

Kova Laxmi, being a defeated MLA, wants to control politics in Asifabad Assembly Constituency. She is confident of controlling politics with the help of MLC Puranam Satish and she lost the elections with just 176 votes’ majority then at the hands of Atram Sakku.

The political scenario has changed as Atram Sakku joined the TRS in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

News has been making rounds in the political circles that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao wants to avoid a confrontation between Kova Laxmi and Atram Sakku, within the party.

KCR reportedly wants to elevate her so that she would extend her cooperation to Atram Sakku, in the activities, being a local MLA.

It is said that it is high time for both Kova Laxmi and Atram Sakku to bury their differences in the interest of the party and Kova Laxmi must seek Atram Sakku’s cooperation to win the ZP chairman post.

According to party sources, till now, both the leaders have been running their local politics from their houses and there was no common platform.

Both the leaders had never visited another one’s home as a good gesture, after Atram Sakku joined the TRS.

A senior TRS party leader of Asifabad said that they can’t expect much from the Zilla Parishad elections if both the leaders do not patch up, burying their differences.
