The programme was inaugurated by the director (personnel), RINL, Kishore Chandra Das. In his inaugural message, he thanked the deputy director general of mines safety S.K. Dutta on whose initiative the first bipartite and tripartite meetings are being held.

He said the VSP ensures compliance with legislation on mines safety, occupational health, minimum wages and others. It must also take pro-active steps to maintain better standards in addition to those prescribed by the legislation.

The RINL management has consistently been giving topmost priority to safety as evident from the fact that CMD-RINL reviews every month the safety performance. He wanted every employee to take a role and responsibility of safety facilitator which should be self-driven.

P.K. Rath, director (operations) RINL and mines owner, responded to various points brought out in course of the meeting chaired by DDGMS.
