Chhattisgarh: BJP Leader Killed by Unidentified Assailants in a Village in Korba District
The slain BJP leader Akshay Garg, a civil contractor, was attacked with sharp weapons by three masked men in the village of Keshla under Katghora area when he was supervising the road construction work in the morning, police said.
Raipur: A local BJP leader was on Tuesday brutally killed by unidentified masked assailants when he was visiting a road construction site in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, police said.
The slain BJP leader Akshay Garg, a civil contractor, was attacked with sharp weapons by three masked men in the village of Keshla under Katghora area when he was supervising the road construction work in the morning, police said.
He was rushed to the nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead, police said.
He was an elected member of Katghora janpad panchayat.
The motive of the murder was yet to be ascertained, police said.
However, police suspected the old rivalry may be behind the attack on him.
Locals observed a shutdown in Katghora town on Tuesday in protest against the murder of the BJP leader.
