B S Yediyurappa assures rent for affected families

During his visit to Mangaluru, Mr Yediyurappa also assured an amount of 10,000 to the affected immediately.

Mangaluru: With no full fledged relief package forthcoming from the Centre as yet, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa was virtually forced to rush to the aid of the flood affected and on Monday, declared Rs 5 lakh as compensation for those who have lost their homes and Rs 1 lakh for those whose house were partially damaged.  

During his visit to Mangaluru, Mr Yediyurappa  also assured an amount of 10,000 to the affected immediately.  As many of the victims are forced to live in rented house, he declared that Rs 5,000 would be provided as rentper month to such families.

Yediyurappa also directed the officials not to trouble the victims seekingrehabilitation, citing rules and regulations.
