Vijayawada: AP tourism department, in collaboration with FICCI, will host the prestigious Air Show from November 23 to 25 in Vijayawada. The event, which includes an acrobatic display and an Aviation Summit, is aimed at projecting Amaravati brand at international level, especially in the aviation space.

The first edition of the event was conducted on January 11 and 12, 2017,  and was a feast to the eyes of people in Vijayawada. The event saw enthusiasts, dignitaries and general public flocking to the Punnami Ghat on the banks of River Krishna.

This is a first of its kind event in the world to happen in air space beyond the boundaries of an airport.

Global Stars Team, from UK, with four aircrafts will perform breathtaking manoeuvres such as formations, loops, barrel rolls and cubans.

The organisers requested for removal of powerlines on the river and creation of a 1 km air strip to hold aviation events in the city in the future.
