WOW cop catches woman selling ganja
Meghamala, the woman constable, nabbed the peddler who was looking for buyers and handed her over to the OU police, officials said.
Hyderabad: A woman police constable working with the Women on Wheels (WOW) initiative helped the police nab a flower vendor in possession of ganja in Sitaphalmandi, and handed her over to the Osmania University police.
The vendor was identified as Lavanya, 22, who was in possession of a small packed of ganja.
Meghamala, the woman constable, nabbed the peddler who was looking for buyers and handed her over to the OU police, officials said.
“We are yet to trace the seller from whom the vendor purchased the contraband and will take strict action to keep a check on vendors in and around the area to crack down on their roots,” said OU police inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy, adding that the area she was caught from was a slum.
The woman was booked under relevant Sections of the IPC and placed under arrest.
